What a weekend 🙂
On Friday night after a little elliptical session and re-watching some of Game of Thrones Season 6, I came home and we watched “The Cabin in the Woods.” It was…different. Not really “scary” in the sense that The Conjuring or The Strangers are scary, but there were some moments that made me jump. It was enough that when the movie was over a little after 10, I ended up staying out on the couch falling asleep to “Lord of the Rings” until 2 a.m. because I didn’t want to go over to the bedroom by myself :). I LOVE scary movies but the aftermath is always a little iffy!
Saturday started out with some studying, falling back asleep, and doing the 21 Day Fix Cardio Workout (with some modifications) followed by a maternity weight workout. Since it was so nice, I decided to do my walk earlier in the day (3.5 miles). When I came back, I did some housework and finished studying.
Mainly I wanted to get all the working out/chores out of the way because for my birthday I got a gift certificate for a prenatal massage from Tree of Life Day Spa that I scheduled for the afternoon, and who wants to do chores after that??
The massage was AMAZING. I’d gotten so used to the pressure in my lower back and hips that when the massage was over, I was totally relaxed and felt like a new woman 🙂
Afterwards, I needed (eh, wanted) to get a little “Thank You” gift for my parents since they have been above and beyond supportive during my pregnancy (and I suspect they will be afterwards as well :)). I got my dad a shirt from Acadia Park Company on Main Street, which I’d never been in before! They have things that are “not your typical” Bar Harbor vacation shirts and here’s hoping Dad likes it!
Next stop was picking up some pizza from Rosalie’s. In our last place, we lived right around the corner from Rosalie’s so last summer after a night out it was easy to stop by and grab a slice. However, living further away (i.e. having to deal with downtown parking) and me getting heartburn fairly easily, there has been no pizza. The good news is that (I think!) baby has dropped a bit so heartburn hasn’t been too much of an issue since two weeks ago. And I decided to get pizza 🙂 Pro Tip: walking down a crowded street with a large pizza is a good look when you’re 8.5 months pregnant.
I had a lot of fun walking out and around town since I don’t usually during the summer months, and getting to support some local businesses is always a bonus 🙂
Sunday was a family day- my mom asked me if I wanted to go to Thomaston, so we left fairly early (still had enough time to do an easy cardio workout and brought my berry vanilla shake to-go).
On our way back, we stopped at 3 Dogs Cafe for some food and of course, something sweet.
Went for a long walk once I got home. My walking time has been getting slower and slower lately- I used to be around 19-20 minute/mile, but now I’m up to almost 25 minutes!
The weekend ended with cleaning in the kitchen, laundry, some prenatal pilates, and winding down (and accidentally falling asleep on the couch-my back is not impressed with that habit!).
