Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend. I actually mastered the balance of crossing things off my to-do list but also doing a fair bit of relaxing. It’s been awhile since I’ve pulled that sort of thing off.

Last Friday after work I went for a hike around Great Head, and saw some woodpeckers doing their thing. I texted this picture to my family group chat where my dad promptly informed us that these are pileated woodpeckers, also referred to as “cock of the woods.”

Saturday morning I woke up around 6 a.m. and couldn’t get back to sleep, so I decided to go into the living room and do some reading + a splash of coffee and milk in some water. If I decide to have real coffee, this is how I have it now- otherwise it’s tea or decaf. Next was trying out one of the old Insanity workouts followed by Pulse (the active recovery workout).

Lots of shopping later that morning. With all the Route 3 construction and summer traffic about to start, it’s starting to be a pain to get on/off the island these days, so I pretty much just bought ALL the things.

Also invested in some lighter weights (which only came in pink apparently). These are for when I switch from Insanity Max 30 (this is the last week!) and go to 21 Day Fix Extreme. Part of me wanted to go up to 15 and use 10s as my light weights…but the smart part of my brain decided that the second half of pregnancy is not the time to do that sort of thing 🙂

 

Saturday night dessert. I was supposed to go out with friends Saturday night but that didn’t end up happening. Instead I ended up watching Golden Girls reruns (I’d never really watched this show before and totally got sucked in), and also somehow John Wick.

Sunday was cooking/cleaning day in Milbridge. I baked some brussel sprouts dad had in the fridge and the cauliflower that didn’t get used in my coconut curry chicken (in the crockpot), after drizzling in olive oil, garlic powder, and parmesan cheese. They came out super tasty.

Also made this chocolate chip peanut butter brownie, but didn’t have the right size pan so I just used a cake pan instead. Still tasted the same 🙂 And it was even better topped with some Halo Top!

Later that day, my mom texted me asking if I wanted to go for a hike up Pigeon Hill so I pretty much dropped the vacuum and left. It’s a fairly easy hike (but I still got winded because I was trying to talk and walk the whole time), but the views are amazing even from the 317 feet of elevation. Of course none of the pictures I took do the view any justice.

Early Monday morning Insanity workout before heading back to the island for the week. This is the only sunny day we’re supposed to have until next Sunday so I am spending as much time as possible outside! Also, last week of the Insanity Max program 🙂 Can’t believe it’s been 60 days already! But I have a feeling I’ll be seeing Shaun T. again postpartum.

And just because…23 weeks!
