Another weekend in the books. Mother Nature gave us quite a ride weather-wise, I talked to my grandparents on the phone on Saturday and they’d had over 8 inches of snow! But, thanks to Maine weather during the spring, most of it melted on Sunday in the 45 degree “heat.” We’re all more than ready to settle into a regular warm weather pattern, but it’s one of those things we all put up with to live here.

I’ve had this song stuck in my head since seeing the new Beauty and the Beast a couple weeks ago, and I’ve listened to it a thousand times since then 🙂

Recovering from the flu was pretty rough. Even five days later, I still don’t have much of an appetite and have occasional bouts of nausea (plus heartburn, but that’s from the whole being pregnant thing). The next few pictures are some of the foods that got us through the post-flu phase.

Annie’s Star Pasta and Chicken Soup.

Outshine Fruit Bars (we went through 2 boxes of these)

Some other foods that didn’t get pictured are homemade bread (that I made into toast), bananas, oatmeal, and a ton of gatorade and Vitamin Water.

Last week I found this brownie mix inspired by Girl Scout cookies (they also had Thin Mints). Finally got around to making them this weekend, and they were delicious (even if I slightly overcooked them).

On Saturday I went to Milbridge. It was pretty gray and dismal, but we didn’t get any snow. The tide was also super high, it usually doesn’t come all the way up to the bank like that (must be the moon!). I had a chilly walk and ended up accidentally soaking my feet in the water…it was a soggy walk back to the house.

Visited with my Dad’s Mom and got a lot of chores done, even though a nap was all I really wanted. After a later dinner of steak and mac & cheese, I accidentally fell asleep on the couch watching Bob’s Burgers

Sunday I finished prepping a calendar for my first ever challenge group! Very excited to kick off April actually leading my own group. I got the idea a month ago when I realized running Boston was off the table, and thought the chance to help others reach their goals would be the perfect way to spend my time instead of wallowing. Let’s bring on the April Sweat Showers!

Back in Bar Harbor, the flowers are blooming 🙂 The forecast is calling for snow on Tuesday and Wednesday (boooo) but maybe it will change in the next day or two…

I had to go into the office for a bit in the afternoon, since I’m missing the next couple mornings for OB/GYN appointments (my doctor is about an hour away). It was so nice out- yanno, 45 degree heat wave, so I took a break after an hour and went for a long walk (almost 3 miles total).

One of my favorite walking/running paths, Compass Harbor, is still pretty snowy and muddy, so I couldn’t walk too far in (just enough for a selfie ;)).

That’s all for my weekend (sorry for the ‘bleh’ post- it was fairly uneventful and I forgot to take pictures of ALL my food–fail).

What’s your favorite season?

Have you ever been in/lead a challenge group? What were your favorite and least favorite parts?
