Happy Monday! This past weekend was a bit rough for my family, but I’m reminded again and again how resilient and tough we all are when we’re together.

Friday night was a bit of a snow flurry, but my cousin and I went to see the new Beauty and the Beast, which we LOVED. The last time we went to the movies together may have been Pocahontas when it first came out. Fun fact: I didn’t recognize Ewan McGregor as Lumiere at all, thank goodness for the end credits! While Tom Hardy is still my #1, Dan Stevens is definitely a close second now (Alan Rickman formerly held that place…).

One of my friends had told me about this amazing James Corden Crosswalk Musical, but I didn’t get around to watching it until Friday night. I’m obsessed, and have watched it at least 30 times in the past 3 days (even forcing my dad to watch it with me).

Saturday I got up early for a workout and walk, and then met up with Mom for a drive down to the midcoast. Both of my grandparents have been having serious health issues lately, so we have been visiting quite a bit.

A robin outside Gramp’s hospital window. Poor little guy is probably so confused by this weather.

My uncle is a bit of a jokester, and added this to the wall of phone numbers…

I ate my snack food early on in the day, so by the time we left the hospital as Gramp was getting transferred later in the afternoon, I was starving. We made a pitstop at 3 Dogs Cafe and Bakery, which I highly recommend if you’re ever in the Camden area. Their sandwiches and salads are amazing and fresh, and their desserts are soo good. I forgot to take a picture of the Toffee Brownie before devouring it.

Grams got settled in his new room at a rehab facility, and a whole bunch of us spent a couple hours in his room. Same uncle was making yet another joke. Laughter IS the best medicine, right?

My grandparents have been married for 56 years, so it’s hard for them to be away from each other for very long. Grammie has just had her second round of chemo for lung cancer, so they have been through quite a bit the past couple years. For awhile it was as if they were the only two people in the room.

When I got back home on Saturday night, my boyfriend had the “plague” (sickness on top of sickness!). It’s been going around here lately :(. I did a lot of cleaning on Sunday morning, and spent a few hours with my dad and his mother in Milbridge to give my boyfriend some recovery time (our apartment is very very small, so we are typically right on top of each other).

Tried a little something new recipe-wise. Baked chicken tenders with sautéed red pepper, onion, brussel sprouts, and tomato, and parmesan risotto. I also baked some spaghetti squash for the week and let dad keep the leftovers. He also got the leftover no-bake cookies.

And I came back to the apartment to check up on the sick one. Fortunately it looks like a 24 hour thing. Ending the weekend on a good note with everyone in the family on the upward mend 🙂

Took an updated shot with the bump- 5 months coming up soon! We have our big 20 week ultrasound next Monday. I’ll admit as a first time mom I’m a bit nervous about this one, but trying very hard not to stress out about it!

Excited to start Spirit Junkie by Gabby Bernstein this week- it was recommended to me a couple weeks ago.

Did you try any fun/new recipes this weekend?

Have you seen the new Beauty and the Beast? What was your favorite part?
